What’s Covered in Motorcycle Advanced Training Courses?
Each course starts with an assessment of your existing riding skill level, followed by a briefing on your advanced training programme.
Starter Course
First, you will get an introduction to your course, followed by 2 hours of On-Road Tuition. These two hours of training will consist of the instructor giving advice by radio on your riding style, the instructor then gives a demonstration ride of the advanced standard. You then get to take the lead and practice the standard of riding just witnessed but with the comfort and knowledge that you are being closely monitored and given radio guidance to ensure that you make good progress in a safe and controlled environment.
This part of your course may be performed with 2 students and allows each student to learn and compare motorcycle riding styles. When 2 students are under tuition the time on road will be extended to ensure each student gets the full tuition time. At the end of the run you will be debriefed on the competency level shown.
Intermediate Course
This is a more in depth course where all fundamentals of advanced riding will be learned. The aims of this course is to develop comprehensive observation skills, hazard perception, road positioning and cornering, acceleration and braking, and the machine control only evident in a good advanced rider. Upon completion you will be able to recognize at an early stage any potentially hazardous situations and avoid then whilst at the same time being more confident, more progressive and above all safer. Tuition would normally be on a 1 to 1 basis.
Advanced Course
This level covers all aspects of advanced riding techniques plus all the intermediate skills, and as you progress through the course the skills will make you improve your average speed, particularly on bends, and confidence in the rain will increase considerably due to a smoother riding style and relaxed approach.
Any problems will be addressed in depth until you are able to master the techniques and become a far safer rider. This course can be customized to meet the specific requirements of the student, e.g. Limit Points, filtering, slow manoeuvring or riding with a pillion. Again tuition is normally 1 to 1.
Upon successful completion of the Intermediate or Advanced course you will be provided with a course certificate of achievement.
Do I Need My Own Bike?
For advanced motorcycle training, we recommend that you do use your own bike so that you get used to using these skills with the machine that you normally ride.
