125 Courses

With your 125cc motorbike license you are qualified to ride a motorbike with an engine up to 125 cubic centimetres capacity.  You may be able to ride a larger bike but it will have to be restricted.  This size restriction is imposed for 2 years, after which you can ride larger cc bikes.

Anyone over 17 years old can take their 125cc test.

Our instructors aim to make your learning experience enjoyable and stress free, while training you to a high standard of competency.  We offer friendly lessons in a safe environment for riders of all ages.

What’s Involved in the 125cc Motorbike Training Course?

The 125cc motorbike training course is split into two modules.  The first module is taught at our training grounds and covers maneouvers such as figure of eight, stopping and U turns.  You will need to show competence riding at speeds of at least 32 miles per hour.  The module one test takes about 20 minutes and you must pass this before moving on to the second part of the training course.

Our instructors always try to make sure that a learner is ready for their test and has shown all the necessary skills.  You will also be given feedback about your performance to help you to improve any areas that were weaker.

The second module is carried out on the road, and will give you real experience riding with traffic and in urban situations.   To pass this you must:

  • Be able to read a vehicle’s license plate from a specified distance
  • Correctly answer balance and safety questions
  • Carry out common biking maneouvers such as a normal stop, angle start and hill start
  • Ride safely and confident for roughly ten minutes on local roads

During the last on road part of your 125cc training course your instructor will follow you on their motorbike and give you instructions via headset.
